Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival 2013
Hoboken Museum hosts annual Heirloom Tomato Festival
The annual Heirloom Tomato Festival is back on Sunday, August 25th – from 1-5pm – at the Hoboken Historical Museum at 13th and Hudson!
A Taste of History!
“New Jersey based farmers Rich and Sue Sisti of Catalpa Ridge Farm will supply tastings of some of the tomato varieties they and neighboring New Jersey farmers grow. Favorites have included the tart “Aunt Ruby’s German Green,” the supremely flavorful “Brandywine Pink,” and the ever-popular “Radiator Charlie’s Mortgage Lifter.” New varieties are grown every year.
Catalpa Ridge Farm will also have packaged dips, pestos and salsas made from farm ingredients. They’ll also bring a selection of farm-fresh produce including corn, garlic, herbs, peppers, onions, eggplant, summer squash and more!”
Don’t forget the garlic in October!
Catalpa Ridge will return in October with even more garlic varieties for our Fourth Annual Heirloom Garlic Festival, so mark your calendar for Sunday, October 13, from 1pm to 5pm, for free tastings of recipes made from “the stinking rose.”
