About Hoboken Grace Church

Hoboken Grace is more than just a “Sunday service.” It’s about connection. It’s about being part of a family on mission to love and serve one another, our city, and our world.

In February of 2008 Chris and his wife, Ana joined with three others to begin working at planting a church that would accurately reflect Jesus Christ to the young urban professionals and young families in Hoboken, NJ. For five years that church has worked to show the love of God in any way possible to our city in order to allow people to see that God is not who most of us think He is, but rather is a God of unbelievable love. Over the course of those five years Hoboken Grace has not stopped growing. Each year it has doubled in size with over 500 attending each weekend at this point. To this day, and as we move forward, Hoboken Grace continues to do all we can to love the people of our city so that we might have the chance to help people find their way back to God.

As long as your dog is well behaved around children, I don’t see why anyone should have an issue with that…

On the otherhand @kooky kat, it seems like you are suggesting that children and people without dogs should have been banned from Church Square Park for the dog event. As a former dog owner, I would suggest that bringing any dogs that are dog, child, or person aggressive to a public event is flirting with danger.
The Hoboken Baby Parade is next weekend, I think I will take my dog!!!
Oh yes, by all means! The dogs should leave the DOG PARTY because your kids make them uncomfortable!!! Jeesh. They can’t just do one thing for the dogs in this town with your kids taking over. Parents think they own Hoboken and people with dogs be damned!

Honestly, I am not even technically “allowed” to walk my dog through that park unless I am going to the dog run. It’s ridiculous.

I am sorry- please show me where in my post I said that dogs should go home because they made my kids uncomfortable. Nowhere? Thanks.
It was a great event- I too have fought with city employees over the dog in the park issue. I was even ticketed. So I have sympathy. I also know that some dog owners, whether its in the dog park, on the sidewalk, or at an event like this don’t properly control their dogs. I should know- my dog was attacked unprovoked three times in dog parks the first year i lived here. So no dog parks for him now unfortunately. That is the only point I was making, along with the fact that a few kids in a bouncy house didn’t seem to keep any other dogs/dog owners from enjoying themselves. Once again on this site, every parent with a child gets thrown under the bus because of the actions of one person. Try that with “fill in the blank minority” and people would be up in arms. Despite te negative comments from the previous commenter, thx to Hoboken Grace for the bouncy house. Took my kids for one bounce through there, and they thanked the very nice volunteers (they even wondered why we didn’t have to use tickets). So Jen I was there in the busiest part f the dog party, there was a total of about 3-4 kids waiting for the bouncy house in addition to the 4 inside. Sorry kooky kat- the “stroller moms” didn’t take over the party (or in my case “stroller dads”). I will say that I saw a lot of dogs who were not the correct temperament to be in such a high energy/loud/hectic situation. I know my dog would have gotten too hyper so I left him home- some other owners should have done the same.

Thanks Hoboken Grace for the free Dog Party, too bad you had to throw up a bouncy castle to make sure that stroller moms made it absolutely impossible to navigate through here! I spoke to someone who actually heard a mom say “oh, there are so many dogs here”.
