Hoboken Summer Enchanted Evenings
Hoboken concerts in the Park: “Summer Enchanted Evenings”
Every year, musical performances take place near the dilapidated Sinatra Park area along the otherwise beautiful Hudson River. It happens in the amphitheater next to the empty restaurant space that used to be home to the Crepe Grill (which they city essentially forced out and tried renting it out for free to some “computer lab”).
To the north of the stage is the former Sinatra Field, which sunk into the river four years ago. It’s currently getting re-constructed, and has a possibility of coming back again this year.
For those of you who remember the old OLD Sinatra field, it was actual dirt and grass (although far from pristine – it was still “real”), but you could play ball on it whenever you wanted. After it got re-surfaced, “free space” it was no more. No one could use it unless a permit had been acquired. So be careful when someone uses the phrase “open space,” and be sure to question who gets to use it, how and when.
Hopefully the happy music helps us forget the nonsense our silly “government” gets us into.
(Note that this schedule often changes due to weather circumstances.)
