Hoboken Family Fun Nights at the Shipyard – 2013 Schedule
Thanks to the generous folks at The Applied Companies, fun free outdoor performances for the whole family are available each Tuesday evening this summer.
Over at the Shipyard Park each Tuesday evening starting at 7pm, parents and their children can tend to the ADD of their kids for an hour or two each week! If you’ve ever seen it, it’s like a sugar-high on steroids. You can raise your metabolic rate substantially just by watching for a few minutes!
Shipyard Park is located at 13th Street along the Hudson River waterfront.
The 2013 Hoboken Family Fun Nights program kicks off tonight at 7pm with The Hey Ya Brothers.
The Hey-Ya Brothers is a two-man wacky comedy “variety show” for the whole family created by clown and physical comedians Joel Jeske and Christopher Lueck.
As a bonus tonight, Mimi Kids Yoga will be offering a “pre-show yoga class” starting at 6:15pm. They’ll be doing this on June 11th, July 23rd and August 6th as well.
June 11th – Yosi
Award winning musician Yosi performs original and traditional songs throughout North East USA & beyond. From school and library events to regional music festivals, Yosi’s shows are whimsical, imaginative, and enthusiastic.
June 18th – Rockin Railroad
Named “Best of” by New York Magazine. The Rockin Railroad band takes you on a journey through tempo, rhythm, word recognition, and sound identification, exploring different instruments and musical genres. Rockin Railroad is a product of the Kidville Corporation, which has a daycare center just steps away from the Shipyard Park.
June 25th – Garden Street Band
Presented by staff & students from The Garden St. School of the Performing Arts, They will keep you jumping, grooving and moving. Fun for kids and adults of all ages!
July 9th – Ron Albanese (Polka Dot!) & the Polka Dot Pals
Ron Albanese brings along his POLKA DOT PALS! band for a music and comedy show like no other. There’s songs for everyone, costumes, props, special effects, and more!
July 16th – Preschool of Rock
Each show is a “roof raising” celebration, and the Preschool of Rock delivers an experience filled with exciting and intelligent programming. The use of live, original music, drum circles, guitars, world instruments, dramatic play, props, puppets, movement and storytelling, captivate audiences, young & old.
July 23th – The Fuzzy Lemons
Get ready to “jump, wiggle, and shake” with The Fuzzy Lemons, the juiciest family-friendly rock band on the scene! With laugh-out-loud lyrics & memorable melodies, every song tells a story & every show is full of fun.
July 30th – Erin Lee & the Up Past Bedtime Band
Erin Lee & the Up Past Bedtime Band perform original songs about “loose teeth, lost baseballs, & other assorted joys & challenges of childhood” have earned them national attention as one of the freshest, funniest, & insightful performers for kids… and of course, their parents (who aren’t getting light-headed from the wine and booze snuck into the park!)
Aug. 6th – Music Moves Me
Music Moves Me is an integrated, educational, music and movement program designed for kids. The artists perform interactive songs that are designed to educate by utilizing melodies that are catchy and fun. “Each session delivers an extremely high level of enthusiasm and energy, which is contagious!” (They have a rainout date of August 27th just in case.)
Aug. 13th – Guitar Bar Jr. All Stars
The Guitar Bar, who has two locations in Hoboken (one on 1st St., and another for kids on 11th St.) will be performing a set of fun tunes from the “Guitar Bar Jr. All Stars.”
