Hoboken Holiday Crafts Fair – Joe Orsag

Part 4 of the 10 part series of featured vendors for the upcoming Hoboken Holiday Crafts Fair starting December 2nd. Check back each weekday leading to the event to see a different participant.

Today’s spotlight is on Joe Orsag.

A native of Manville, New Jersey and long time Morristown resident Joe Orsag presents his collection of pencil sketches reproduced using the highly regarded Giclee method.

After more than 30 years, Joe picked up his pencils in 2002 and resumed an interest first started in his college days. He has now combined his interests in history, baseball and sailing, and the beach with his sketching. His concentration is on local scenes, both past and present., as well as beach scenes, sailing and baseball vignettes.

The strict attention to detail is intended to create an authentic presentation of how we lived, then and now. Joes objective is to preserve the past and to provide a true portrayal of the present.

Joe can be found living in Morris Township with his wife Janet. His son, Michael, is a student at West Virginia University and a member of the National Guard. When not at his drawing board Joe fills his time selling Real Estate throughout Northern and Central New Jersey.

They’re weirdly anachronistic. The first one really looks like an antique print. Turn of the century meets modern photo realism.
