Action taken on HPD

11/22/2007 Turkey Update:

Here’s an Eyewitness News update about the recent controversy. See the Channel 4 update in the previous thread.

11/21/2007:

Second ward Councilwoman Beth Mason is taking action on the controversy swirling around the Hoboken Police Department. Mason tells Hoboken411 she will ask the council to consider adding a resolution to tonight’s agenda asking for a truly independent outside review of the Hoboken PD including the high-profile allegations involving the now-disbanded SWAT team.

Here is the resolution:
Anyone else notice there are suddenly a lot of police officers walking a beat again? Before Hooters I could walk from the path, over to the west side, and half-way uptown and never see an officer or even a car. And that was pretty routine. On the way to the train this AM, I saw 5 on foot. Several yesterday as well.

It’s lucky I’m gullible…

so you admit that the plaintiffs released at least some of the photos, but then you so that andriani released others? are you stupid? all the photo’s came from the Gang of Five. it’s a smear campaign and makes me sick. these poor “victims” had a beef? they have MANY channels to seek redress. up the chain of command in the dept, their union, the state level…they didn’t need to file a lawsuit. these cops are some of the highest paid in the United States. they do not work very hard. they all seem to heve attitudes and pad their time cards. but rather than try to seek help within the organization they chose to join they go running to the press ans say “he said this or he said that…wha wha wha…pay me.”
only problem is the taxpayers are the one who have to pay. we are the victims, not the overpaid underworked Gang of Five.
These guys smeared themselves with sh!+. All the release of the photos is doing is to show us how badly our taxes are being pissed away.

Follow the money. Investigate. Prosecute. And at the next election, boot out of office all who would not condemn the actions of these folks.
