Convenient Work
05
November
11/5/2007:
Here’s some user-submitted photos of work being done right in front of the Dawn Zimmer headquarters at 411 First Street this past weekend, effectively shutting down the street and sidewalk.
One reader had mentioned that workers said they were installing an AT&T cell phone tower there. Others have said that the city has effectively postponed work similar to this near other candidate’s HQ’s in the past.
Was this a “planned” event, or just coincidence?

PS, I’m sure many of you might be thinking.. “What’s up with all this 4th ward “stuff” today?”
Just getting it off my plate. I’ll have some entries about kittens and pulled pork later (not in the same article, thankfully!)

Kittens? Anyway I did wonder what was up with that “work” being done Saturday as I could not get down that side of the street.

Closing the street today is totally typical!
How long did it take to get that traffic light going?
What else do you expect from this group?
All their support letters the past 2 wks.
It makes me want to gag.
The antics have just begun.
Expect alot of BS for the next 48hours.

Saturday I was driving down the street and some high school kid waiving a Campos sign practically jumped in front of my car on the corner of I think it was Madison. Scared the cr*p out of me…..

so they have tried to intimidate her voters with a felon…then a kid with a camera harassed her and then RAN to hpd to try to get a falsified charge drawn up…the Reporter coverage has been a bit slanted against her in the Letters that are published…City Hall arranges for a photo op for Campos…now they close the street her HQ is on? guys, this is like On The Waterfront. a bunch of thugs in camel hair coats! at least we haven’t seen a return to the 1980’s Arson City tactics.

If they have been putting it off why do they schedule it for that Saturday? Why not a month ago or a week from now? I guess we should be thankful they did not schedule it for election day.

Also, when I saw all this communications equipment my spider senses were tingling that they may attempt to install eavesdropping devices. I wouldn’t put it past them.

I just hope Tuesday doesn’t turn into a total state of debauchery and mayhem, a la a booze laden drive through midtown, ….
Ooops, I mean, just kidding. But seriously, I do worry about the degeneration of our neighborhood if this does get bad in the next 48 hours.

Wouldn’t you call 3 fires within a three block radius along 11th Street a little strange?

OH REALLY?
Not a lot of work happened on Saturday but the street and sidwalks on both sides of the street were blocked all day. I would say the timing was more than “convienent” for Mr.Campos.
