Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday

11/2/2007 Reminder:

This Sunday at 2am, it become 1am again.

Twice a year, someone always gets screwed up from the “clock change”, whether it’s ahead in the spring, or turned back in the fall.

I always seemed to use daylight savings time in the spring as an excuse to get to work an hour late. I even found a way to use the “fall back” as an excuse too, by saying “I forgot and accidentally set it back twice!”

My concept of time can be limited at times, how does Daylight Savings Time affect you?

Unfortunately, Hoboken City Hall missed the memo changing when DST was to end this year. I think that they changed them last weekend. (One at City Hall and one at 11th St.) They can’t even get that right.
I wish I was I the racket of selling those antique (computer run full of bugs) clocks to cities and towns around here, jeez everybody’s got have one. Hoboken went whole hog and got a 4 sided one, some cheaper places only get 2 sided ones. Must be quality government. ;)
Biggest waste of a DOT grant! Dave Roberts must have seen a real need to have 3 clocks within 50 feet of each other at City Hall. The four sided Disney reproduction, the one on top of the building and the one directly in front of the door as you enter. 😈

Hoboken411: First off, thanks for the reminder. That said, I am not the consumate professional or smartest guy at my office, but in ten years of working for various companies, I have NEVER heard of anyone (i repeat anyone) forgetting/becoming confused/claiming ignorance about the time changes that happen twice each year in the U.S. And have been taking place since we’ve all been born.

First of all, the switch happens on a saturday night so everyone has one day to adjust. If people are so stupid/high/drunk that they still don’t know what time it is on Monday AM, then they should call in sick or apply to the local fast-food restaurant…cause that’s where they’ll end up one way or another. It’s one thing if you work for yourself and use this as an excuse, but if someone is a big enough dumb-ass to tell their boss this sorta excuse at a fortune 500 company? Well, maybe it’s just me, but i think we oughta question that particular company’s HR hiring practices…
