Quick sandwich review from Hoboken411 reader Michelle:

The chicken club at Willie McBride’s was one of the better club sandwiches I’ve had. The sandwich itself was stacked together nicely and consisted of a flattened chicken breast, cheddar cheese, really smokey bacon, and your standard LTO between three slices of toasted bread. The chicken wasn’t seasoned but that was good since the bacon was nice and salty which made up for any lack of seasoning on the chicken. There weren’t any condiments in the sandwich, such as mayo or mustard, etc. I appreciated that because I actually dislike mayo and prefer having the option of adding what I want later.

The sandwich originally comes with chips (fries) but I asked for onion rings instead. What a mistake. The onion rings were of the frozen store-bought variety (i.e., they sucked.) They were also overcooked and burned. For a place that has such great chips, you’d think they could make some kick ass onion rings too. The only other side was a limp, flavorless pickle. It tasted like it was brined in nothing but water.

Overall, I really like this dish and would order it again but with chips next time.
