Quick sandwich review from Hoboken411 reader Michelle:

The chicken club at Willie McBride’s was one of the better club sandwiches I’ve had. The sandwich itself was stacked together nicely and consisted of a flattened chicken breast, cheddar cheese, really smokey bacon, and your standard LTO between three slices of toasted bread. The chicken wasn’t seasoned but that was good since the bacon was nice and salty which made up for any lack of seasoning on the chicken. There weren’t any condiments in the sandwich, such as mayo or mustard, etc. I appreciated that because I actually dislike mayo and prefer having the option of adding what I want later.

The sandwich originally comes with chips (fries) but I asked for onion rings instead. What a mistake. The onion rings were of the frozen store-bought variety (i.e., they sucked.) They were also overcooked and burned. For a place that has such great chips, you’d think they could make some kick ass onion rings too. The only other side was a limp, flavorless pickle. It tasted like it was brined in nothing but water.

Overall, I really like this dish and would order it again but with chips next time.

one of the best bars in hoboken, great bartenders and regulars. all the games are available on multiple big screen televisions + darts, fooseball and pool.
big news was the recent addition of Labatt Blue on tap!

WORST BAR IN HOBOKEN! Warm beer, nasty bartenders and crappy bar grub…UGH! The girls behind the bar have the worst attitude and NEVER smile. If you’re so miserable there then quit but don’t ruin everyone else’s night. Draft beers are always warm and drinks are weak. Skip this dump, there are tons of other pubs to chose from. Try Farside or Moran’s.

Tiff is right. Willie’s is awful; the food is actually fine, but the beers are borderline poisonous. I doubt their lines have ever been cleaned. Walk two blocks to Triple A’s just for a beer that doesn’t taste like vinegar.

I like to go for trivia on weds nights. The food is pretty good. The bartenders can be pretty cold if you’re a girl, I think… they’re getting better now that they see my face more often.

I’m a fan of this place as I used to live around the corner. The food is decent enough and there always seem to be a ton of good looking girls there on Friday and Saturday nights. My only gripe is that beers are somewhat overpriced for a place that I don’t consider to be upscale. They price their drinks like 340 or Nine, plus there is usually a cover charge. Also, it seems like no matter what time of the year it is, its always a million degrees in the back room where the stage is.

Used to live around the corner from this place and thought it would end up being my local.

After attempting to gain entry a few times for a beer and then getting the juiced up bouncers demanding money for the band – I gave up………….plenty of other places to get a beer from in Hoboken.
