Whiskey Bar renovates
Whiskey Bar undergoing expansion, renovation in Hoboken
In case you didn’t know what was behind the massive blue tarp at 125 Washington Street – it’s the old Whiskey Bar location!
Hoboken’s Whiskey Bar gets 2nd floor – possible theme change
This venue, which is owned and operated by the same folks who run Black Bear as well as Bahama Mama’s (and others), will not only get an interior renovation, but a brand new second floor as well. The entire back half of the structure was leveled a few weeks ago.
The owners are still unsure exactly what the new bar will entail (or if a name change is coming) – but promise it will be markedly better than it was.
Hopefully it’ll be a bit more classy and less rowdy! Stay tuned!

The Whiskey Bar has been around for over eight years in Hoboken, and has held it's ground as one of the top spots to catch local bands play.
A no-nonsense and no-frills bar with nothing but the basics.
Drink specials all week:
Happy Hour: $2 domestic pints, $3 imported pints.
Thursdays: $3 Smirnoff mixed drinks, $3 Yuengling pints.
Fridays and Saturdays: 1st Set Specials.
They have enough bartenders to keep the drinks flowing at a decent rate.
Some long-time residents believe that it may attract too many out-of-towners, but the mix is OK with us.
They still pack a crowd on the weekends, and you may feel a bit cramped. But that's what they want. The bathrooms are very tight and annoying. Definitely not a 5-star lounge quality with attendants.
We happen to catch the Bon Jovi cover band "Slippery when wet". The crowd sung along and enjoyed them.
You're never too old to stop into a place like this. While not something all of us enjoy, from time to time it's good to check out what's going on in our little world here in Hoboken.
One thing that was annoying was the cool pictures of all the real rock-n-rollers smoking cigarettes. Those should be banned as well, because just the sight of them made many people crave a butt.
