Downtown Ambulance

Hoboken needs an ambulance downtown… why?

I’ve noticed a Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance stationed downtown on most weekend nights. Do you ever wonder why?

Do you think it has anything to do with the excess alcohol consumption that takes place?

Or is it because just “bad shit happens” downtown, over other areas in Hoboken?

Bottom line is – that if ambulatory care is always required downtown, why doesn’t the Hoboken EMS consider finding a secondary HQ closer to the PATH?

Throughout the state, and the country for that matter, it is common for EMS agencies to ‘post’ their ambulances throughout their coverage areas. In fact, JC EMS had led the way with special technology to predict where emergencies are likely to occur. ‘Posting’ (that is, stationing ambulances on the street) allows HVAC to reduce costs by having only one station, and to respond to emergencies faster.
