Hoboken Make-A-Thon this weekend
Elks Lodge in Hoboken becomes 24 hour art space for Sandy Charity
Not sure how they got permits to run this all through the night, but starting this Friday, January 11th at 9pm – and continuing for 24 straight hours until 9pm on Saturday – the Hoboken Elks Lodge at 10th & Washington becomes the Hoboken Make-A-Thon!
This charity event was inspired by Hurricane Sandy, and will transform the Elks Club into a “24 hour studio of expression,” where artists can be sponsored to create whatever they do best in order to raise money for the Hoboken Elks Disaster Relief Fund. Paintings, crafts, along with performing musicians, comedians and practically anything considered “art” these days.
You can enjoy the fun and donate on the spot – or do so online via the Hoboken Make-A-Thon IndieGoGo fundraising website.
This is believed to be one of the first “marathon” type fundraisers ever in Hoboken.
A small cover charge at the door will gain you entrance to see the bands, enjoy the food donated by local restaurants – and of course alcohol will be available. Enjoy!
