Hoboken Fire at 11th & Adams
At around 10am this morning – residents called Hoboken Fire Department with reports of fire in a building near the Hoboken High School field ( JFK Stadium) at 11th & Adams Streets.
Fire companies responded to confirm that there was indeed a fire on the second floor, with smoke and visible flames.
Police found the tenant of the apartment and discovered that the sofa had caught fire after he fell asleep with a lit cigarette.
The fire was quickly knocked down, and there were no reports of injuries.

HHS is not on 11th and Adams, it is between 8th and 9th on Clinton Street.

@debra – I meant the high school field. Regardless, this was apparently the second time this happened, and the tenant was actually evicted and not really authorized to be there. He’s going to have to deal with some stuff now that’s for sure.

@411 I thought so when I viewed the picture, but like you stated that was besides the point. Sorry to hear this and Im glad no one was hurt. He should be held accountable and pay for whatever damage.
