10/16/2007 Update:

Zimmer had responded this morning:

“These charges are absolutely absurd. I was surprised and humored by this young man taking my photo as I walked my dog Julia, but after he kept running in front of me, even my dog got annoyed.

I just cannot believe Mr. Campos is so desperate to win this election that he would send an 18-year old to the Police station to file completely false charges. First Campos sends in the convicted felon Gerry McCann to harass and intimidate my supporters, and now this. His team spent all day Saturday trying to convince the Police to have me arrested for assault and robbery without any investigation whatsoever. In fact, so much pressure was put on the Police by the “powers that be” that they had to be told by the County Prosecutor’s Office that there was no case.

When this is all over, I think I might have to write a book. This is like being on a Gerry McCann/Chris Campos reality TV show, and they keep trying to kick me off the island. Watch for more action as Mr. McCann and Mr. Campos get more desperate with the fast-approaching Election Day on Nov. 6th.”

Dawn went on to reference a comment made on the NJ.com Hoboken message boards the same evening from whom she believed was Gerry McCann. That post number has since been removed from board, but she said because it claimed her allegedly “assaulting” an 18-year old boy and that she would be arrested, that it was an organized smear campaign against her.

The latest 4th Ward “incident” involves a claim from an unidentified male who says that Dawn Zimmer “harassed” him and “grabbed his wrist” this past Friday evening (Oct. 12th) while he was “taking her picture”.

In a counter-claim from Zimmer, she indicates that said male’s continual “running in front of her” was “getting out of hand” while she was walking her dog near her residence.

Not sure why, but the police copy obtained has the name/D.O.B. blacked out. Dawn’s police statement is still in handwritten form and should be available from Police Headquarters after noon today. The Investigation Report indicates that “due to the facts presented and lack of any other proof”, it is not an “indictable offense”.

This, on top of the harassment claim Zimmer campaign workers have against Chris Campos. That case was ordered to be heard outside of Hoboken. You can see original Journal article here.

I’m awaiting an official response from Zimmer regarding this latest incident.
