An intentionally inflammatory post might not provoke a delete if the person were articulate and seemed prepared to work his/her way through the flack. Some just weren’t up to it or had the profile of an arsonists. Start the flame and sit to the side and watch it burn.

Sometimes the overall level of heat would make me bounce a post that would just make matters worse. I might allow it at a different time, but not when it was entered.

There’s other scenarios. You don’t have all day for every decision.

Sure he deletes some user’s comments, but as with ANY blog forum, there are rules. I have seen plenty of posts from opposing views that get here on the site, so I don’t know how valid that claim is.

There has to be SOME semblance of order, otherwise your site gets bogged down by people who just want to be abusive and disruptive, then what’s the point of having a blog in the first place. You have to manage the trolls.

I really don’t mind the attention, because it makes me laugh. Plus I haven’t the time to even be concerned about it. Life is really blurring by.

My income month to month isn’t guaranteed like a bi-weekly paycheck. I work hard to make ends meet. And whatever jobs I can scrap up (web design, DJ, even dog walking!) I’ll take.

The political “spin” they’re trying to create is the furthest thing from the truth. My opinions would be the same regardless of who I received income from. I made that clear when I took these local jobs on.

I have something to show for my efforts, and I’m actually proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish in the past 19 months.

It’s extra funny that H411 got a whole separate write-up for his $2,500 of web services rendered – while Campos and his tens of thousands of developer money was buried in the bottom of the article. Nice priorities, Reporter.

I hope you take all of this attention as a compliment. It shows that you have a larger readership and market share than the Reporter could ever dream of. The fact that Campos paid people to post here shows the power of this medium, and it illustrates the fear that Campos & Co. feel everytime they read the site.

To echo the above posts, 411 has done more to improve transparency than just about anything else in this town. At the same time, this is your blog, not Michael Mullins’ or the City’s. You can write whatever you please, and as readers, we have the power to agree or disagree. My only suggestion would be to make sure that anybody submitting writing pieces is clearly marked so that you are not misidentified as the author.

Additionally, new users will have their first few comments held in moderation to prevent “sign up & post” blitzes.

It can take as little as a minute, or as long as 1/2 a day for new users comments to appear.
