Hoboken cars floated away during Hurricane Sandy
Hoboken411 reader Julie captured this video of Hurricane Sandy moving perfectly parked cars in Hoboken…
“I took this video during the storm from my place on Park Avenue downtown and thought I’d share.
The car was still there last week and I went over to talk to the owner and told her I’d send her the video so she she could see how her car came to be parked facing the opposite direction. She told me she had to get to work at The W Hotel and could find no other spot in town. We flood down here on a bad rainstorm so I had wondered why any cars were left parked on the street.”

I still can’t get over how many people left their cars parked on the streets. It’s not like the storm came out of no where and was a surprise. There were DAYS of warnings.

During Irene people listened, and most of the streets were empty. If the choice is between losing your car or parking it in a garage, even if it’s Jersey City, I’d think the trek to the Newport is worth it.
