Cheering for Charity in Hoboken

As you might have read, last weekend there was a fund raising car wash for 7-year old girl Ariana, who recently diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme, a very aggressive type of brain tumor.

The community is rallying behind this sick child, and even the Hoboken Cheer Dynamics Cheerleading team is going to go “canning” for this young girl this afternoon. Ariana’s family is from Hoboken and her cousin was a cheerleading coach a few years ago.

A reader wrote in explaining today’s charity event, in front of City Hall between 4:30-6:00pm.

The cheerleaders do a lot of fundraising to support their team, but this time the cheer and the money will go to Ariana. They will be wearing their practice uniforms (black, red and white) and will carry their “cans” with Ariana’s picture on them. I hope that your readers will be as generous as they can when they see the girls tomorrow, Thursday, October 4, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM in front of City Hall and along Washington Street.

The Hoboken Cheer Dynamics cheerleaders consist of 3 teams of about 20 girls each, ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years old. Since 1992, Cheer Dynamics has excelled in competitive all-star cheerleading, having won 10 national championships and numerous state and regional championships. For more information on Cheer Dynamics, please contact Coach David Gonzalez at CheerDynamicsas@aol.com. I am the proud parent of an all-star cheerleader. My daughter absolutely loves it and believe me, it is very hard work and not fluff at all. What they are doing for Ariana and her family also shows their great heart.

Thank you for your support, as always!”
