TRUE Mentors Helps Kids: 2nd Annual Hoboken Scavenger Hunt
TRUE Mentors, Hoboken’s only one-to-one mentoring program for children, will be hosting the Second annual Hoboken Scavenger Hunt for all ages this Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Teams of up to FIVE people will compete by answering trivia questions, taking pictures, and acquiring items for free from various venues throughout Hoboken.
Each clue on the list is worth points and teams with the highest points upon completion have the opportunity to win prizes donated by local sponsors including Ben & Jerry’s, The Taco Truck, Hoboken Pet, Mad One Jack’s, Hoboken Volunteers, SkyClub, Double Eagle Insurance and Robert Bazouzi Hair Studio.
Teams for the adults-only competition or the family competition can easily register online at TRUEmentors.org, or at Ben & Jerry’s Hoboken, 405 Washington St. Before Hunt day teams can register for $40 and individuals for $10, the day of the Hunt registration teams are $50 and $12 for individuals.
“We had an awesome turn out last year and people are already buzzing about it. Teams are already lining up and prizes will be even better this year,” said Susi Tully, executive director of TRUE Mentors.
The Hunt registration begins at 1pm on October 13 at Church Square Park (Park Ave. between 4th and 5th Streets in Hoboken). The Hunt starts there at 2pm. This fun-filled race throughout Hoboken will support TRUE Mentors’ ongoing efforts to match Hoboken children with caring, supportive adult mentors, creating a stronger more unified community.
The Hunt award ceremony and after-party will take place from 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at Willie McBride’s Irish Bar and Restaurant (616 Grand Street), Hoboken with free ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s, snacks, games and prizes for the Hunt winners.
