First Photo Walking Tour of Hoboken, NJ – September 29th

It’s my belief that you cannot teach inspiration – it either comes naturally or it doesn’t. However, if you’d still like to meet a renowned photographer and “watch and learn” as he guides a group around some Hoboken landmarks and gives photo pointers ($50 per person), then read on!

Walk around Hoboken with a camera and Jean-Paul Picard

The hob’art gallery is very pleased to present its first Photo Walking Tour of Hoboken on Saturday, September 29, led by Jean-Paul Picard, a photographer and artist who has lived, photographed, and taught in the city for over 30 years.

The tour will start at 9am at Picard’s studio in the historic Neumann Building, 300 Newark Street, 4th floor, near elevator and end at the hob’art gallery, 720 Monroe Street, #E208, Hoboken at noon. The Neumann Building can be accessed from the rear parking lot at 333 Newark Street. The cost is $40 for hob’art members and $50 for non-members.

Walking through the city, Picard will present his approach to plein-air photography with helpful insights and professional tips. Some of the outdoor highlights include the Lackawanna Plaza transit hub, Neumann Leather Building, RiverWalk, Pier A Park and Pier C Park, Stevens Institute, Court Street, Holy Innocents Church, Church Square Park, and Hudson Street brownstones, along with colorful stories about Hoboken’s history.

Jean-Paul Picard, a graduate of Parsons School of Design and the New School of Social Research, is a photographer, graphic designer, and web designer with clients in New York City and Hoboken.
