Bicyclist vs. Light Rail Train

Bicyclist hit by light rail train in Hoboken

At approximately 5:20pm tonight – a bicyclist was struck by a NJ Light Rail train at the crossing near Paterson & Marshall Drive.

Not sure what would cause a biker to miss a massive rolling vehicle such as a train with blaring horns, but it happened. Units from Jersey City are tending to the man’s injuries at this point. It’s unknown whether they’re life-threatening.

What next, bike lanes directly next to the train tracks?

I guess this is what happens when bikes don’t obey car rules. I wonder if he will be cited for a ticket like a person in a car would be?

Biker was probably watching a movie with headphones on their ipod while cycling, because you know you can’t get enough of Hollywood!

Wow! How important is it for society and the world as a whole, that this person stay out of the gene pool? How fast was the Light Rail going, 11?

I am sure this person was on their phone.

I almost got run down by some dickwad today and had some words (unfortunately in front of neighbors who now must think I am a crazy bitch) but really, get off the sidewalk on your bike, and if you’re going to be on the sidewalk ON YOUR BIKE slow the f**k down and stop LOOKING AT YOUR PHONE! By all means…make sure you aren’t in the bikelane going the wrong way for your own safety and make sure everyone on the sidewalk is in danger! Good thing I wasn’t a toddler running out from that blind spot, or I would be SPLAT!

Perfect end to a perfectly heinous week. I pretty much hate everyone, but I really hate that guy right now.

Recently during a rain storm I was at the bottom of that hill as the light changed to red, a bicycle rider nearly bought the farm as he barreled down the hill past the lights as the two trains crossed in opposite north south directions at about the same time. I cringed as he swerved to a stop to avoid those two trains crossing. He must have crapped in his drawers, there should be gates there if anything to keep the reaper at bay.

These d*ckwad cyclists should not be on the sidewalk, and yet I see at least three speeding down sidewalks every single day (and many of them are not delivery people).

My favorite cyclist is one I saw the other night– an enormous middle-aged woman in flip-flops. FLIP-FLOPS.

This is why I don’t feel bad when they get into accidents.
