Bike Lane Debacle on Clinton Street

Bike lanes in Hoboken are blocked on a daily basis. Chalk it up as yet an additional way for the city to hand out excess summonses that just suck money out of the local economy, and pad the city coffers for more pay raises and useless classes and trips for certain “sacred” employees.
It wouldn’t be a problem for anyone if the bike lanes didn’t exist, but I digress.
I found this particular photo interesting enough to make another “caption this” photo exercise. My suggested captions are:
- “I’m delivering a tricycle from Amazon.com, does that mean I qualify to be in the bike lane?”
- “Perpendicular to bike lanes, bitchez!
- “I’m doing perverse things with life preservers, stop looking at me!”

I went looking for a dedicated bike lane next to the light rail but found none. This is the most sensible place to put the lanes. I imagine that the cities that have them must have put them in a master light rail plan. It is a real pleasure to see a city with a rail to the airport and the dedicated bike and walk lanes accessible and continuous throughout.
