Are massages and spas on the way out?

Rup Day Spa doomed in Hoboken, NJ
Seems like with the economy tanking – massages are one of those things that (as it appears to me) less people are doing.
I suppose it tops the list when it comes to discretionary spending, as folks feel the squeeze with rising prices elsewhere. “Hmm, let me see, eat dinner or get a neck rub.”
Rup Day Spa (website defunct) here at 10th & Washington is for rent now. Then again, they had a little in-fighting going on there from what I recall…
Do you get rub-downs more or less than you used to?

I went there many times YEARS ago, when it was Roop, not Rup. It was very clean then, but I guess when the good staff left, they let things go. There was definitely a lot of staff dis-satisfaction going on. I am sorry to see it close as I loved the massages I got there.
