Family Fun: A Day for Kids

Next Saturday, September 15th!!

Great Adventure Trip!

While kids are headed back-to-school, there is still some time before summer officially ends. Why not take the family to Great Adventure before the season closes and help to support an organization that is dedicated to kids?

Family Fun: A Day for Kids

Thanks to a partnership between New Jersey’s Boys & Girls Clubs and Six Flags Great Adventure, deeply discounted tickets are being offered for a special September 15th event, called a “Day for Kids”. The event is sponsored by ShopRite, and is one of many being organized nationwide on that day – an effort to highlight the value of adults and children spending meaningful time together and provide adults an opportunity to take a break and celebrate their commitment to kids.

Come to the park and check out the Club’s most talented kids, who will be showcasing their abilities at a 1 pm expo inside the park.

Performers will include:

  • step dancers from Clifton
  • drummers from Perth Amboy
  • an a cappella group from Burlington
  • dance teams from Vineland and Burlington
  • singers from Lodi, Vineland and Burlington
  • acoustic guitar players from the Ironbound section of Newark

Tickets are being sold by the NJ Boys & Girls Clubs, and can be purchased through the organization’s website, www.bgcnj.org. $35 includes admission to the park and the safari, and a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

For additional information, call 973-765-9612.

Re 1.ho-jo… Hah, re a snide, but funny reference to our local issues…but this sounds like a worthy event.

Why not forward the link to some of your friends who could support the effort?

I, for one, LOATHE Great Adventure. But if G.A. will donate $$ to a worthy cause, I’ll forward it on to everyone I know who might be interested.

Stepping off the soapbox.
