simple reason for some many accidents..The stupid must stop at crosswalk law for drivers…That law is good for perhaps some pedistrian mall situation however through all streets is too much. Because people are idiots and now just walk, ride, run, saunter into the streets because they all think city streets are some walk through the mall yellow brick road or something. Even kids now a day have absolutly no regard or worries about running into traffic.

Beep beep, get the heck out of my way street crossing clowns. Steel and skin dont mix well.

Sense of entitlement doesn’t help either.
Once I was crossing (driving) Wash from 7th (by DD) Had the green light. Some princess walked in front of me crossing 7th – against the green. When I yelled “hey c’mon” she shot me a dirty look like I just strangled puppies.
Also, LOTS of stroller pushers cross intersections against the green too, with cell phone or sugary coffee drink firmly pushed against their babbling maws.

When dog walking, I stand at the corner away from the curb waiting for the light to change to green. I am always amazed that I have to stand away from the corner as parents with children want to cross at the red. It is rather odd. I can’t think of a reason why they would not value the safety of a child/spouse at least as much as I value the safety of my pet.
I also notice mothers opening the car door in the center of the street to remove a child from a car seat. While it might be inconvenient to reach around, I can’t see putting both mother and child at risk with this “in the street” maneuver.

It crossed my mind today, that the pedestrian walking in front of my car long after I had the green was trying to get me to participate in their suicide – or maybe her trailer was wide enough that she thought she could handle the impact.:)
