Fleet Week Flyby – Blue Angels

Drab weather puts damper on Fleet Week turnout in Hoboken

The crowds lining the Hoboken waterfront for Fleet Week New York 2012 this morning were noticeably lighter than when the Space Shuttle made it’s historic final voyage – but it was still a neat sight to experience.

We took just a few photos to record the event, but by far the best moment was the Blue Angels – as their white smoke trails provided good contrast to the otherwise gray, dreary skies – and the light winds allowed the trail to remain for some time. This was the scene below from Pier C Park in Hoboken just around noon today.

I wish I could have seen them. Always a sight and good time. I heard them, just didn’t know what I was hearing. Maybe next time…

Nice pictures! I don’t know, maybe the weather is fitting considering it’s 2012?
