Man perishes at Hoboken YMCA
Man has seizure, dies at Hoboken YMCA
5/23/2012 1:30am update:
Initial reports of foul play involved in the death of a man at the Hoboken YMCA have been ruled out. Medical examiners determined that the man passed away after having a violent seizure, which was the cause of the unusual position they found him in. Good news that we don’t have a murderer running around the streets of Hoboken, but still sad news – and our condolences go out to his friends and family.
Man found dead at Hoboken YMCA; Murder initially suspected
At around 8:30pm tonight, police were called to do a “well being check” on a tenant who lived on the 2nd floor of the Hoboken YMCA at 13th & Washington Streets – as he had not been heard from in several days, and workers at the YMCA were concerned.
When police arrived they found the man, approximated to be in his 50’s, dead in his dwelling. Responding officers as well as the EMS unit suspected foul play based on the position of the body.
Both the Hoboken Detective Bureau as well as Hudson County Prosecutors were called in to investigate the cause of death.
