Pete Rose mentions Hoboken, NJ

Baseball Legend Pete Rose would work in Hoboken if he could!

How about that? Pete Rose, the all-time hits leader in Major League Baseball mentions Hoboken in this kind of sad ESPN documentary which details his life as a minor act in Las Vegas. He said he’d rather be here if he could make the same money hawking autographs and memorabilia!

h/t to Logan for the tip!

Pete rose’s son was very good friends with the bartender of Ted and Jo’s (now Johnny Pepperoni) and Pete came to Hoboken on occasion. He should be in the Hall of Fame, shame on MLB!!!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if I ran into him the many nights I had dinner at the old Ted & Joes. That hat from the video makes him look like an old timer from Hoboken – fits right in.

RE: MLB Hall of Fame
You assume that induction by committee vote is based upon stats and achievement, when it’s really a political vote. Pete Rose is still one of the best (according to the numbers) all around baseball players ever (and still alive). My bet is eventually when he’s gone to another place, they’ll induct him. My feeling is that they exclude him from the Hall of Fame as punishment. They know what he did as a well rounded player in MLB history. No one can deny his achievements. But they can punish him by ensuring he never lives to see the day his achievements are recognized the way they should be, without the politics.[quote comment=”215582″]Pete rose’s son was very good friends with the bartender of Ted and Jo’s (now Johnny Pepperoni) and Pete came to Hoboken on occasion. Regardless whether he mentioned Hoboken or not, it was a great insight into his life. He admitted it wasn’t his problem what people wrote about him.

I didn’t take as if he would prefer to like in Hoboken, more like he was willing to go anywhere he could make money with his business, EVEN Hoboken. I could be wrong, but that’s how I interpreted it.

Pete obviously doesn’t know about the parking quagmire and delusional administration here in Hoboken. Hey Pete, Jersey City is a much better choice!
