Had the opportunity yesterday to spend time with Megan Carnahan, owner of the upcoming Luxe Face & Body shop at 158 First Street in Hoboken.

Taking the place of the previous Continuum Chiropractors office, 6 year Hoboken resident Megan is excited to open her new store in the upcoming weeks.

Providing primarily womens makeup, lotions, skin-care products and more, Luxe also offers various gift items such as make-up bags, candles and other accessories. Not to leave the men out, she also has a comfortable “waiting area” with plush leather seating so that the “significant others” can rest their weary souls if they’re not already interested in the Sharps Barber & Shop men’s products she plans on carrying.

Differing from the tortuous, confusing and often intimidating makeup shops out there, Megan is an avid and passionate makeup and skincare aficionado, and will most certainly do anything to help educate Hoboken customers about the do’s and dont’s in the face & body industry.

She carries upscale makeup lines such as Duwop, Paula Dorf and 3 Custom Color, along with premium skincare lines like OLE Henriksen and Kimberly Sayer.

Luxe can be considered a great gift shop for your lady friends, as she will offer gift certificates for you to give as birthday or holiday presents. This, in addition to the “Beauty Junkie” card, which will give discounts to frequent product purchasers.

She hopes to have a soft opening in the next week or two, but the “official” grand opening weekend is expected to be the weekend of September 21st, 22nd and 23rd, where she will have giveaways, raffles and other fun enticements.

The hours are expected to be as follows: Tuesday - Friday 11am to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm. She will be closed on Mondays.

From what I observed while speaking with Megan, she is truly emphatic about each and every product she’ll be selling, because these are products she’s purchased herself and can vouch for 100%. That kind of dedication and passion is rare in any business, and I believe that will practically guarantee her success in Hoboken. Follow your passion and you will eventually succeed tremendously.
