if you do decide to switch, i go to a great doctor across from grand central which would be close for you–right by tequilaville there-you could just go during your lunch break

i go to this dr too and i have to say that they are definitely not the most accomodating office staff. even in the case of an emergency, i couldn’t get an appt for six weeks or so. really? most dr’s save SOME room for emergency patients but not here i suppose.
these days, many dr offices are overbooked and the staff may be strained in this way. i can ’sorta’ understand the lack of a phone call to inform of the dr’s tardiness. what i have more of an issue with is then making someone wait another six weeks because the dr had an issue. its not like katie cancelled her appointment last minute. the dr was late (emergency or not) and it would behoove the staff AND the dr to accomodate those patients that were inconvenienced.

Is this really the only decent ob-gyn in this whole town? It seems that way, due to the demand for appts, and I’ve never heard anyone else reccomend any other in Hoboken…

I’ve been reading some of the comments made by Dr.Brescia and Dr. Mig patients and i can’t believe some of the stuff that has been said. I’ve been a patient of theirs for many years and i have never had a problem with them as dr’s or thier staff. First of all, the staff does not make the rules for the office, it has to come from either the dr or thier manager. so if there isn’t any appointments until july its because 1. they have an enormous amount of patients (which is a good thing because it shows how good the dr’s are)2. they are only two HUMAN dr’s that have families and can only work so many office hours and be on call at the hospital. WOMEN seen to forget that they are on call dr and when a patient of their goes into labor they MUST leave. As for the staff they try thier best to help everyone but when they can’t give you what you want thier are BITCHES. Remember they are doing what they are told to do, they are being paid to do as they are told not to do as they wish. I’m sure if they could squeeze you in at the end of the day would. And as for them calling patients when the dr is running late or if he is canceling, I know that I keep them updated with the proper telephone numbers so that if they need to reach me they can. I hope the people who complain remember they are humans and don’t need your added insults.

Hi Katie I was one of the three patients in the waiting room on that faithful Monday morning when you came in. In the receptionist defense I heard them trying to contact the doctor when he didn’t arrive at 9 as I was told. He had an emergency C-section to perform and he said he would arrive @ 9. When he didn’t arrive the girls called the hospital and they told them he was on his way. They told me this and I decided to wait. Whenever I go to any OB/GYN I always have in the back of my mind that I may have to wait since I expect them to take their time with their patients and the chance of a cancellation if someone goes into labor. There was also another doctor seeing patients @ the same time so how did you know who was waiting for Dr. Brescia. How many times have you cancelled @ the last minute and haven’t been charged. They are one of the few doctors who doesn’t charge for missed appointments or less than 24 hour cancelation notice, all my other doctors do. For the quality of care I receive and the type of office it is things don’t always go as planned, but the doctors and nurses are there for me even when my problem isn’t related to OB/GYN. We all need to remember that we are mirrors and the reaction we get from others is our own reflection. For someone soooo upset for time wasted from work you sure have a lot of time to be online doing personal stuff. Apparently we sometimes take a full day off to do our appointments because we expect to wait at least an hour for a doctor. Moe has his priorities set right I want a doctor who takes his time and his patients aren’t just a number. Also, if you’re not happy with your doctors you need to find one that will cater to all of your needs that way you can free some appointments for me.

Have they moved their office yet?
48. Journey | June 25th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Are they having phone problems? I’ve been getting a busy or their message during business hours.

journey - my understanding was that they were moving their office on the 20th… through whenever it took. Perhaps this is a side effect?

Journey - yes, they were having phone problems, but I was able to get through today. Their systems are down now, but they said it would be up and running on Friday. I assume this is all due to their move.
