Crime wave leaves churches as victims

Hoboken churches robbed of copper and precious metals!
The crime uptick is no real surprise for Hoboken411 readers – as we’ve been telling it like it is since day one. But some people just take longer than others to comprehend what’s going on (and to get out of denial – we need more cops! ehem, Mayor?)
I knew about these church incidents since they happened, but it’s getting tiring to jump on the same old news story week after week!
Luckily CBS 2 News put together a easy to understand clip about the recent crimes happening in our city. Such a shame!

Watching the local news last night it looks as if St.Anne’s was also robbed of it’s copper draining/gutters. When the maintenance man heard of the OLG robbery, he surveyed the building, and found theirs was missing too.

Why does the news make a big deal about this crime wave because churches are involved? Stealing is stealing regardless of who the victims are.
If anything, they have a better chance of being forgiven by God!

In regard to the above, CBS News has been reporting the increased crime in Hoboken and the Church being a part of it. We all should be thankful for their coverage because City Hall doesn’t seem to be listening.

At approximately 10:30am today – HPD notified officers that a white GMC van was seen allegedly stealing metal material in the area of 55 Jackson Street.
Who’s watching the streets exactly?

Umm, let me see, is it perhaps because there’s an obvious pattern involved…copper, churches, memorials, etc.? They’re more apt to cover a news story that shows these patterns then the random isolated event.
But you so f’in quick to make a snap judgement you obviously missed that.

Thanks for posting. I have noticed a rash of vandalism – the likes I have never seen in Hoboken before. It’s as if the broken glass and damages is some kind of statement in that I don’t see it in other towns.

Since when are St. Ann’s and OLG a mile apart? They’re 1,500 feet from each other.
