im just curious how many cars have been totaled this year due to flooding in hoboken.
After the April flood my "check engine light" popped on and my EVAC system needed to be overhauled. Since the car was older, I traded it in.

oh, look at that. we were all entitled to show damages for a reimbursment thru FEMA funds...but somehow the city failed to make that known. click on the link for the FEMA notice that last day to register was june 22 for the April flood. i do not believe the Governor requested disaster assistance for the last flood. so now i cannot even get money for the multiple deductibles i had to pay. very nice. thanks Roberts.

Yeah- were still really upset about the car..it was a survelience and night watch guard lot..you would think they would have called the owners of the cars when they realized the water was up to the windows!

Does anyone know of a good parking garage open to the public?? Were thinking of parking on the Park and Lock on 14th and park when we get a new car...Does anyone park here?? ;)
Our car got flooded out in the parking garage at the Monroe Center for Arts on 7th and Monroe last Wednesday. This is a $150 a month lot that we pay good money for in order to have our car safe..unfourtunatly the car is completly totaled and needs a new engine! Whatever you do- DO NOT PARK in this garage!! I would like to sign the petition..does anyone know who to contact to sign up?? Also, when the next "meeting" with the wonderfully corrupt mayor of Hoboken is?
Jenny, that really sucks. I got water damage in my car but it still works. I had it cleaned and shampooed this past Saturday. Was this a park at your own risk place?

Whatever type of sump pump you use you must use a check valve. The prevents backwash or in some cases the backwash can cause an air buble to get caught in the pump housing and you will be screwed because the pump will run and no water will go out. Important do not use a cheap shit plastic valve get a brass one ,it will cost more but it will work forever. This might seem stupid but make sure the valve is installed in the right direction,DUH.

To Ron Mexico:

I have two sump pumps. The best ones to get are cast iron. They weigh 25 pounds. Zoeller makes them in Kentucky and have been around since 1939. They cost around $120 and come in 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" exit pipe sizes. You can order them from City Hardware if he does not have it in stock. It took four days. I just installed one in June. It was 11 years old before the float got messed up although the motor still ran just fine. I live over an underground stream so the pump is running every half hour to 45 minutes every single day. I put it in myself. It doesn't take rocket science. It is easy. I just love the Zoeller pump. It has never failed me.

OK, about this "gate"... Why don't they build a split off the end of this line and put a pump on it several feet above the Hudson's water level??

Oh wait, that's too simple, I am sure a 5 year multi-million dollar study is required...
