You might probably already be aware of this, but we’re going to have a couple of brutally hot days this week (luckily, yesterday’s 5k run wasn’t tomorrow). Let’s hope the work PSE&G did last week helps keep the power running smoothly in Hoboken.
A large portion of the eastern part of the country is under a heat advisory today. And despite the mercury in Hoboken only being in the low 90’s, the “heat indexes” (how it feels) will rise over 100 degrees:
A HEAT ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN HIGH HUMIDITIES ARE EXPECTED TO COMBINE WITH HOT TEMPERATURES TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 100 TO 104 DEGREES. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS… STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM… STAY OUT OF THE SUN… AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.
This type of heat isn’t to be taken lightly, so use plenty of caution when working or exercising outdoors or without air conditioning today. And keep those pets hydrated too!
Refreshing the heat poll:
