More rising prices!

Don’t you think inflation indexes are bogus?
Here’s the most recent Consumer Price Index summary from last month:
“On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers was unchanged in November after decreasing 0.1 percent in October. The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.2 percent in November after increasing 0.1 percent in October.”
Not sure about you – but I’ve seen prices go up heavily across the board for practically everything I buy! WTF is going on? And why don’t these bogus charts reflect real life prices?
Here is just a brief sample off the top of my head:
- Starbucks just increased their coffee prices on select sizes.
- The dwindling New York Times raised the price of their paper 25%!
- Even places I love like Baja Mexican in Hoboken – just raised the price of my favorite low-carb meal by 15%!
There are countless others – supermarket food, fuel going back up again – Where is all this extra money going?

wow life must be so rough for you if you are complaining about the prices of LUXURIES like “gourmet” coffee and eating out.
For us regular ol’ folks, grocery manufacturers keep lowering the amounts of their products while maintaining the same prices. That box of pasta? Might no longer be a pound, but 13oz for the same price, etc., etc.
