Was Santa good to you this year?
Christmas is over in Hoboken – now what?
All they hype leading up to the biggest holiday of the year is now behind us. Below are some random Hoboken nuggets for the last day of the long Christmas weekend:
- Gifts: It’s always been my feeling that for the most part, adults should never feel the need to be obligated to exchange gifts during the holidays. More often than not, we can easily buy things that we want or need ourselves. Much of the stuff you might receive you likely don’t even have a use for. Christmas should be for the kids, right? For grownups, a nice lavish dinner out, or even a group vacation together is probably a better idea. Plus – you can do nice things for anyone all year long – on your own terms. Why just save it for this time of the year?
- On parking: Wasn’t it nice to find a million parking spots around town this weekend? Too bad that’s kind of useless considering most places were closed – or you were out of town!
- On (free) parking: Seems like the brainiacs at City Hall took Hoboken411’s advice regarding the free parking other cities allowed. No meter enforcement until January 2nd. Too bad it’s after the shopping season is over!
