Snowy Halloween Weekend

Hoboken has it easy compared to other areas

Sure, today’s unexpected October Nor’easter is pummeling many places in the northeast – but other than a downed tree here or there, Hoboken is getting off easy.

What was supposed to be a routine trip up north to Bergen County to run some errands – turned into quite a debacle. We were supposed to make many stops today to knock some items off our to-do lists, but the storm changed everything. One stop included Campmor in Paramus, but they closed early due to the weather. Plus, the conditions just a few miles to the north were significantly worse than here in the Mile Square. More heavy wet snow had brought down trees on practically every street – closing countless roads, and even knocking power out in many cities. We were lucky to get back to Hoboken in one piece.

Now, time for a nice cocktail!

Rare October snow to pummel the northeast

10/28/2011:

Oh brother. Looks like Saturday is going to be very nasty in our neck of the woods.

They say Hoboken may see an inch or two of snow (mostly on grassy surfaces), lots of rain, and howling winds of 50+ mph.

Happy “Howl-een!”

Just got back from running errands, and even this little snow turns ordinary idiots into extraordinary idiots. We need annual drivers tests.
