Apple-picking season almost done!
Just a little time left for Apple picking!
We hadn’t been apple-picking in forever and a day, and chose to take the dogs out for a spin out to Applewood Orchards & Winery in Warwick, NY.
It was a gorgeous, crisp fall day – and had fun picking the last apples of the season. Hundreds of other people jammed the orchard as well.
Applewood Orchards is a pretty cool place, because they do more than just apples. Besides fresh donuts and other “farm fresh” goods, a full winery is also on site. Countless customers were in the wine shop “tasting” the nearly dozen varieties available. Since we had to drive, we just picked up a bottle of Cabernet ($18) to try later this weekend. Various pumpkins were also for sale.
Hoboken411 Mascot Oscar saw his first sheep – and after a bit of confused barking, shrugged it off as just another mammal.
Applewood Farms is open for the last weekend day tomorrow – and it’s a good place for the whole family, with music, tractor rides and other places to chill out and feel the fresh outdoor breeze. If you’re not into the usual bars and NFL Football madness on Sunday – it’s an easy 1hr 15min drive up north – and will help you relax your soul when you exit Hoboken for a few hours!
