Jets vs. Cowboys

Jets win thriller against Cowboys at Met Life Stadium

A good home opener for Rex Ryan & the NY Jets last night – beating the Cowboys 27-24.

This was my first visit to the new stadium, and had mixed reviews – but was a good overall experience. Didn’t waste a cent on the $12 beers. I think the days of having beers at a professional sporting event are now officially over. Took NJ Transit, which was a nice ride there from Hoboken (about 20 min), but the ride home was a bit of a log-jam boarding the train. But it’s very smart to put the train station right next to the stadium. No one needs to drive there anymore.

Got to see George W. Bush and a few other celebrities – and the 9/11 halftime presentation was very classy.

You can see other pictures on the Hoboken411 Twitter stream.

NY Jets Home Opener at Met Life Stadium

The New York Jets take on the Dallas Cowboys tonight. Kickoff at 8:20pm.

NY is favored by 6 1/2 points, with an over/under of 41 points.

My random prediction: Jets 31 – Cowboys 17.

I take offense to calling GW Bush a “celebrity”, War criminal would be a better description. I don’t normally disagree with H411 but I feel I need to speak out. How DARE Bush/Rumsfeld et al show their faces in ANY 9/11 memorial. The 3000 victims of the terrorist attack should have been remembered in low key, solelmn services, not the carnival-like atmosphere, complete with performances by big name musicians and TV “news”stations competing for 9/11 specials. most appalling is that no one mourns the 100,000 innocent victims (men women and children)of another terrorist attack, the invasion of Iraq, a war started by faulty intelligence” and a country that had NOTHING TO DO with the WTC attack( there were NO Iraqi hijackers on any of the planes.) Osama bin Laden was hunted down and killed for his resopnsibility in the 9/11 bombings. For some reason, Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld and others remain free from prison, not held responsible for their actions and the killing of innocent people in Iraq don’t matter to most of the U.S. population. And the real hero’s of that fateful day in September, the first responders who, without concern for their own safety, helped rescue the injured and dying, are being denied health benefits and treatment for cancers from prolong exposure to the toxic clouds and dust. We have learned NOTHING from the events of 9/11 and we continue to disrespect the memory of the 3000+ victims of the WTC by continued war and killing in their name. I, for one,… Read more »

Whereas you are entitled to your opinions (and you made some good points), I hardly think that you can successfully argue that a former President of the United States was NOT a celebrity![quote comment=”210643″]I take offense to calling GW Bush a “celebrity”, War criminal would be a better description.
