Awesome new book: “Hoboken Dogs”

Hoboken resident publishes first-ever book about mile square dogs!

Resident and Photographer Kristen Pierce has published a great new coffee-table photo book called “Hoboken Dogs – A Dog’s View of the Neighborhood.”

It features 150 of the cutest dogs in town (including the 411 Mascot Oscar!)

You can purchase the book online at Blurb.com or right away in Hoboken at Cornerstone Pets and William Howard Home.

See below about the happy hour release party this week at the Madison – with part of the proceeds going to Liberty Humane Society.

Hoboken Dogs Book Release Happy Hour at Madison Bar – Sept. 8th

To Benefit the Liberty Humane Society

“On Thursday, September 8th there will be a happy hour at The Madison Bar and Grill in Hoboken, NJ for the release of Hoboken Dogs, a tabletop collection of digital photographs and facts featuring a cross-section of the K9s who reside in this historic New Jersey city. The Madison Bar and Grill is donating ten percent of all drink proceeds from the evening to the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City, NJ.

As well as colorful portraits of Hoboken dogs, the book showcases some of the most recognizable places and historical sites in the city, such as the famous waterfront from Marlon Brando’s All Along the Waterfront, the plaque recognizing Hoboken as the birthplace of baseball, the locations of the former Lipton Tea and Maxwell House Coffee Plant, and Carlo’s Bakery, home of the Cake Boss.

As the slogan “A Dog’s View of the Neighborhood” implies, the book aims to capture the spirit of this Hudson River city, which draws annually to its brownstones and corner cafes many young professional seeking a dog-friendlier neighborhood.

Copies of the book will be sold at the event and patrons will also have the opportunity to have the book customized with their dog on the cover. The book may also be previewed and purchased online at www.blurb.com. All are welcome at this endless happy hour, which will run from 5:30pm until close. For more information regarding the book or the happy hour, contact Kristen Pierce at piercek313@yahoo.com.

Congrats, Oscar!

Adorable idea, and I think a cat book would be adorable, too.

😯 Huh?

I was serious. There’s a book called Wild New York. Why not Wild Hoboken?

Oh, wait. We kinda destroyed just about all areas where wildlife would be.
mosh face wild life ..and you lived in the wilds, change them sweats..please
Yeah Moosh and because of that so called wildlife being destroyed in the met area including the meadowland wetlands and Hoboken that is why your residing here ..ever think of going on a trip to the rain tree forest to perserve wild life? You would be on animal planet. 😀
Huh?I was serious. There’s a book called Wild New York. Why not Wild Hoboken?Oh, wait. beerz good ..consider the weight limit for rental and condos at the shipyard is was around 40 lbs and one paid a fee for the animals..These water buffalos drop not landmines but at least one megaton of ca ca..It takes a payloader to scope it up..Not all these jerkeys pick up for notice they look over their shoulders..This issue should be mentioned at the moronic council and the barry sons..Btw geese turds are nice to..Hey new comers you cant, have it both ways. These animals belong in a back yard free to roam in urban areas and not in hoboken…Unfair to these animals..How many apts smell ? Kids walk in apts and smell of ca ca .its not them but some one stepped in a land mine..This is clean and healthy? ok slap me 🙄
beerz better than that..How about a book about cute geese that leave green turds on the waterfront and get sucked into the jet engne intakes..They will be heading south soon..Admit they are cute.
Looking forward to seeing the book. Will there be a book about Hoboken cats? I got two adorable furballs who have never met a camera they didn’t like lol. How about equal time for the felines?
