Cars towed despite improper signage notice

Even Hurricane Irene doesn’t stop HPU from robbing residents

Hoboken411 reader Chris sent this photo in of cars getting towed on Hudson St. between 11th & 12th Streets today.

He said the HPU employee admitted that the signs were put up THIS MORNING, claiming Hurricane Irene blew the original ones away.

“Tell that to the guys that got towed,” Chris said.

Why couldn’t hurricane Irene flood out HPU “headquarters”, City Hall, Carlo’s?

Absolutely ridiculous. When I arrived back in town Sunday there were only a few accessible spots in the 4th Ward luckily regulations were not enforced Monday.

Well done HPU, probably snagged 5+ cars in this little bait and switch. So 5 x $25 then add (what is it $150 boot fee?) x 5 plus the kickback they get from the towing company makes a pretty successful day for the crooks.
