6/15/2007 recap:
Had these pictures waiting to be uploaded from last weekends event.
100’s of fired-up kids excited by Polka-dot, puppet shows, pony rides, cupcakes and popcorn. Add some button necklaces, the moon walk, and the wacky dragon, who wouldn’t be thrilled?
This was so popular, I heard that next year the Red Hot Chili Peppers will actually be taking Polka Dot’s place! A roaring success!
Although I have to say that if you’re over 5 years old, the music at the “Poppy Town Puppets” show will give you high anxiety. It’s the equivalent of drinking a 5-gallon jug of espresso.
See more pictures below.

that was a fun event – so was the free kayaking offered the same day by the Hoboken Cove Boathouse at Sinatra Park!
Surprisingly, bathrooms at both places stayed locked for much of the events. Up at Pier A, looked like it took 5 parks employees to punch out the lock on that bathroom Btw, anyone know why the restaurant at Sinatra Park is closed? Doesn’t anyone know people on the waterfront like to EAT?

I guess this & St. Mary’s ate up the budget for city-sponsored sports in the summer (remember those?). This looks really poorly attended, in any case. Good use of tax-payer money (vs. the FREE kayaking?)? And yet we have roads w/massive holes in them . . .

The new summer recreation schedule is now available on the city website. The free kayaking is provided through a group of volunteers.
