Will Barry flood us?

Just a little note here that our first tropical depression “Barry” is milling around Florida right now and it is expected to head up the Atlantic Coast over the next couple days.

While this probably won’t cause the same flooding as our monster Nor’easter back in April, there is some potential for abundant rain, depending on it’s track. You might want to keep an eye out, just in case.

I went out last night to check out 9th and Madison around 11:45 last night. There was a “river” of water flowing down Madison from the north and it then went into the construction site that is the entire 900 block of Madison. There should def be some kind of sign there saying that it floods under heavy rain. I would never think that area would be so prone to flooding if I had not seen it before. They really need some kind of fix there, whether a basin, pumping station, more sewage lines. It is even worse by the entrance to the Shoprite by 10th and Madison.

I overheard Campos talking to a guy about the Dunkin’ Donuts on Newark and Grand. He said if it floods out and the power goes out, he is going to go looting.
