Weapon found in Mailbox

321 Harrison Street.

Postman opens mailbox (box #282), finds “weapon”. Not sure if it was a gun, knife, or “snappy insult”.
I’m ashamed to admit that this story makes me giggle. What could the backstory be? Parolee on the way out to court realizes that s/he forgot to leave weapon in the apartment and is just too lazy to head back upstairs? “I’ll put it in here – no one will ever find it in here! I’m a genius!”

And it would only be truly frightening for the postal carrier if a disembodied hand popped out of the box and started lunging at him/her with the weapon… 8O
That’s twisted… 😀

i do that, too – not leave weapons, but leave small items in the mailbox on the way out, that is. hope the finder didn’t go “postal”!

That’s a crappy day at work for that poor mailman…

This is kind of funny. There have been times in the morning commute where I’ll put my umbrella or something in the mailbox because either I don’t think it’s going to rain or I don’t want to carry something – so instead of running back upstair, I’ll just stick it in the mailbox til I return.

So yeah, I use my mailbox as a locker sometimes.

Maybe this person did the same as they reconsidered not mugging someone on such a nice day as today.
