Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 9/4/2011
Hoboken crime, fire & incident update: September 4, 2011
Various Hoboken incidents – Sunday, September 4, 2011. This post may be updated as necessary.
- 2:50am (9/5/2011): “Man Down”
Today’s “Man Down of the Day” update is sponsored by the intersection of 3rd & Sinatra Drive. The guy wasn’t causing issues, just really “tired” from drinking, and became “alert” once HPD arrived, and said he was “just taking a break.” He was staying in the W Hotel. Wow! Can’t wait to see how awesome his night was on his Facebook page. Not.
- 2:25am (9/5/2011): Street Fight
Willow Ave between 6th & 7th – an unknown street fight involving a “large group.” Many Hoboken residents called 911 to report this melee. Future note to those prone to fighting – hang out with people you’re likely to get along with.
- 2:00am (9/5/2011): Who needs open space?
When you have plenty of roof-tops to play on? The security guard at the Metro Stop called HPD to report “kids on the roof, refusing to leave.” I can imagine the classified ad for this security job: “Must be good at calling the cops when things go wrong.”
- 12:20am (9/5/2011): Courtyard Fight
At the “luxury apartment rental” complex better known as the Curling Club at 11th & Grand – reports of a fight in the courtyard. They must have had a heated debate on the Jihadists plot to take over Libya.
- 11:45pm: Purse Snatching
Near 6th & Grand – reports that a female with blond hair stole another woman’s purse and fled the scene. Wow, that must have been one fashionable bag!
- 9:30pm: “Suicidal” Male
NJ Transit & Hoboken Police are dealt with an “out of control” drunk male near track 14 at the Lackawanna Plaza train terminal (in the back by the Light Rail). He threatened to jump into the river, seriously enough that HPD summoned NYPD Harbor Patrol to be on standby. After much back & forth, HPD was able to secure the man and send him to the hospital instead. I hate when Labor Day parties go bad!
