I live on the corner of Park and Newark and I can tell you why this happens: People blow through the stop sign all the time. They don’t care if you’re in the crosswalk, they just keep on going. I have almost got hit by a car crossing the street to my building more times than I care to remember. And somehow the driver gives me the dirty look. This is also a bad intersection because it’s really the left first turn off of Observer after the light.

I mean, I get it, I have a car and I drive in Hoboken, and it’s not always the easiest thing. But really people? You’re driving in a suburban area, slow down! God forbid it were a mother walking her baby or a child darting into the street.
