Hoboken Police & Fire Blotter: 8/7/2011

Hoboken crime, fire & incident update: August 7, 2011

Various Hoboken incidents – Sunday, August 7, 2011. This post may be updated as necessary.

  • 3:00am: Waterfront Bloodshed!
Reports of a fight in the area of the W Hotel and Trinity Bar along the Hudson River waterfront in Hoboken. At this point, there are TWO victims – one with a head wound, “bleeding heavily” and another one, possible stabbing – with a face laceration and possible other bodily punctures. HPD has a heavy-set man, wearing red t-shirt in custody near the W Hotel. Idiots + Booze = bad things.

More updates to come…

It sounds to me like there are two units from the hudson county sheriff’s department helping cover the city. They were asked to report to HPD HQ on their frequency within the past hour, and now I’ve heard them on our frequency out at a CVS on a shoplifting, and at 1000 Maxwell on a commercial burglar alarm (general motion, don’t know the resolution). Are we that understaffed that we can’t arrest two people without hurting?

Mavrande/..when you come to realiize that our illustraus Mayor deemed fit to demote some police personal as well as refuse to increase the manpower of the Hpd this is how it will be.There has been a load of retirements this past year in both departments.
In the FD down to 20 captains from 36 two years ago../Attrition? maybe so but these people in both depts must be replaced. The Countys presence near the sink hole is their responsibality. All county roads sts are same. The NJ Transit and Port Authority have jurisduction as well. The amusing part of the equaision is the noise ordenence to go into effect soon,..regard the bars and bikers after 10pm.The inception of class 11 cops is a joke..at 12.00 per hr and no bennies after compleation of their shift.Morale is at it’s lowest point in years..Quote from the Horses mouth(I dont have enough man power girl power to police the city.).Pray that this town of 55,000 never come under a dire emergency..Lets hope not.
It sounds to me like there are two units from the hudson county sheriff’s department helping cover the city. Shasha..please note..these class two police turn in their weapons at the compleation of their shift ..remember not protected with benifits after that. 12 14 dollars an hour is not much to sacfrice your life for..Many tax payers voted for this dream who won by default..This is not a town of lest than 20,000..Yet she and her cohorts will not except a decrease in paychecks with two diamond cutting places on both coasts.something is not kosher..stinken like dead herring..opps sorry.Hey home owners did your proberty tax decrease? Politicans never lie or are poor..culture of corruption no/ it’s the culture of pipe dreams and delusions..Lord help us.. 😥
I agree, Wiskey Tango- Class II Officers are not the answer!
Hell, there’s a whole string of them. 1000 maxwell place (“City Living”?) is all clear, now they’re heading to 308 washington (Panera Bread) on a burglar alarm, general motion. I’ve now heard calls to SO1, SO2, and SO3, and have seen two sheriff’s cars responding to calls in Hoboken.
It sounds to me like there are two units from the hudson county sheriff’s department helping cover the city.
