We’re doing the 1-week trial and so far, we like it. We’ve done the 8pm classes and there were a lot of people….but not overcrowded. We felt there was enough room in between each bag. The gym is pretty big and there was 1 person while I was working out…..3 when I was leaving. Thats my number 1 complaint about NYSC: the weights are always super crowded. We’re going to join Club KO. Aaaaaaand this is why more places around Hoboken should do free trials. When you have a good product or service…..you’ll get new customers. Sampling!

CKO is great, I wish they’d open another location though. The classes are just way too over crowded now. I may give it a try again, but it’s exhausting trying to “fight” your way to get the perfect bag. It’s been awhile since I have been, I would love to see if they’ve put up some new bags.

As far as upstairs goes, it’s a gorgeous gym, and rarely crowded. If you are looking for an intense workout, and can get to 5:00 class, this is the place for you! I really really miss it! Unfortunately, I can rarely get to a class that isn’t completely overflowing!

Don’t quote me on this but I was just in there the other day and I think it was $20 or $30 for 1-class trial (you get a pair of gloves). You can sign up by the week (obviously more expensive) or do a monthly membership for about $72. NYSC uptown was $70. And packed. Club KO’s gym, while not as renovated…..is huge and pretty empty it seems. Overall, seems pretty great if you wanna try kickboxing. Most people I know seem to like it there.

Anyone know what the normal membership costs are?

I heard that CKO Grand had one of its instructors go to Hoboken Boot Camps and asked the coach to help her boost her workouts and now there is an identical replica of Hoboken Boot Camps at CKO Grand with them holding the same classes. Does anyone know if this is true?

I was just at CKO today and noticed a flyer advertising a 35 minute high intensity workout. I don’t necessarily think it was bad for the instructor to go to Hoboken Boot Camp as that is their ‘specialty.’ I’m glad CKO is branching out to different types of workouts. I’m in decent shape and started doing HIIT a year ago…all I can say is it has really transformed my body.
