Hoboken Skunk Alert: Several residents & dogs sprayed!
Skunks seem to have invaded uptown Hoboken. Hoboken411 has received several emails about skunks in various areas. Near the Hudson Tea Building, as well as the Shipyard Park between 12th and 13th.
At least two residents (and their dogs) were sprayed in the past couple days. Residents note that they were walking on the sidewalk, not in the park itself.
Be careful out there – it’s next to impossible to get that smell off! Carlos, who’s dogs were sprayed last night on the southern part of Shipyard Park – bathed his pooches for over six hours to no avail.

I had heard years ago that bathing in tomato juice gets the smell out. Good luck!

Heard the FBI is good with working with skunks.

Most politicians ‘skunk’ the public they are supposed to serve.

Good news: The Shipyard Management team ordered an exterminator to sniff out the problem.
Also – a reader suggests not wasting time with tomato juice to eradicate the skunk smell, as it only provides temporary relief. Cornerstone Pets sells a shampoo called “Skunk-Off” which is better. Works after two baths.

Well, the exterminator hasn’t done a very good job. I saw a golden retriever get sprayed on the 14th Street pier last night. Does Hoboken have an animal control unit that can take care of this?
