Pleasant Road Spa still not open

8/5/2008 Update (or lack thereof):

Back in August 2006, Pleasant Road Spa owner Adriana Maslov was planning on moving into the Monroe Center for the Arts.

Now, nearly two years later, the space at 720 Monroe Street still remains empty and there’s no Spa in sight!

I emailed her to find out what the holdup was, and if she still plans on moving into that space. I have yet to receive a response.

Why does the Monroe Center just reek of bad aura?

SEE UPDATES FROM “WAY BACK” AFTER THE JUMP…

8/29/2006:

The current Pleasant Road Spa on 12th St. is going to be moving to the Monroe Center for the Arts.

Originally set to move at the end of August, they’ve extended their stay by another two months while they prepare the new location. The new home is set to open some time in October.

Pleasant Road plans to add many new services to the menu. Such as manicures, pedicures, etc. The new facility is much larger than the exisiting one.

I heard that the Monroe Center is in the process of foreclosure. Millions of dollars in bad construction loans. That may have something to do with PRS not opening up.
The Monroe Center could be awesome. It is really a shame more stores haven’t opened up in there yet.
How about a nice chinese restaurant or nail salon? This may save you a trip of 2 blocks in any direction.
