Hoboken (Pizza) Pie… in Texas!

Hoboken Pie brings “Jersey Style” pizza to Austin Texas

Did you know that Hoboken residents Matt & Jay Daniels were inspired to jet down to Austin, Texas to open up a “Jersey Inspired” pizza parlor called Hoboken Pie?

Seems like they’ve made a name for themselves down there (coming in the top 10 pizza places in Austin according to PizzaHunt.com).

Other reviews from places like TripAdvisor were so-so, but they fared well on Yelp. Maybe those southerners don’t “get” how pizza is done in the northeast.

Speaking of northeast – it’s commonly known that NYC is the pizza capital of the world (with some of the dumpiest places having better pizza than the best in NJ). Why do you think the owners chose Hoboken as their “source?” Is New York played out?

Unless they ship Hoboken water down to Texas, there’s no way their pizza will be as good. It’s all in the water.

I’ve been here. Im in Austin every other week- this place is lousy- impostos has better slices. From what ive heard the owners are from Bayonne and not even from boken.
I laugh at it every time i drive by it and its “off” the real touristy areas of 6th Street in Austin.

The owner was born and raised in Hoboken NJ. His email is jason@hobokenpie.com if you’d like to verify. The General Manager was raised in Onset, Massachusetts and worked in local pizza (Marc Anthony’s) for 10 years before moving to Austin and working with Jason (Hoboken native) to develop the menu. The GM’s grandfather worked for Peppe’s Pizza in New Haven for 25 years.

If you had a lame slice, let’s get you taken care of. Shoot us an email at: yo@hobokenpie.com with your name and contact number and we will get you a pizza on us. We are confident our mix of east coast experience won’t leave you laughing at us each time you drive by.

Not all carolina pizza is bad there is 1 place where the owner claims the difference is the water. He goes on the say take once a week a truck brings down “brooklyn water” in 55 gal. drums. I doubled over laughing at him.
But that sad looking pigeon looks more like the picture of the polish falcon hanging over the door a tthe falcons club in bayonne.

Hoboken Pizza is a very popular spot in Pacific Beach, CA. Spoke to the owner (from Hoboken) years ago, and his business has taken off since. Great Sicilian.
