Cinco de Mayo in Hoboken

cinco-de-mayo-hoboken.gifTomorrow is another annual “excuse to drink” day. Cinco de Mayo. In fact this seems to be a pretty packed drinking weekend for that matter, with the Arts & Music Festival Sunday as well.

Does anyone purposely get together and “celebrate” this Mexican holiday? Drink many margaritas and feel like hell the next day?

If so, where do you like to go? If not Hoboken, where else? NYC? Jersey City?

Here’s a list of some venues in town that have Cinco de Mayo specials, courtesy of Hoboken-bar.net. Nine seems to have some good specials all weekend, especially if you’re a big Corona drinker.

  • The Dubliner:
$12 Buckets of Corona, $2.50 Coronas $3 Tequila Shots. Enjoy the Day on the Roof Top Deck.
  • Liberty Bar:

Does anyone know if any of the local bars are showing the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather fight on pay per view Saturday night?

Well, it’s never been like that crazy at all. But this is the first time I saw it land on a Saturday.
Not to mention the Arts/Music Festival on Sunday. I assume Hoboken is going to be somewhat of a shit show, to a certain degree, this weekend :?
Also, Sunday is the MASSIVE Bike New York Five “Boro” Bike Tour (30,000 riders). There are usually lots of people who drive into Hoboken and take the PATH or ferries over with their bike on this day (including my friends) and their website even recommends it as THE way to get into the Manhattan from Jersey. Should increase the amount of people in the area even more…
